Hi,
I just bought Finale 2007 and I have a problem with playback of music created with an earlier version. When I open a piece it plays some bars, then the curser continues to run, but without any sound. When I start again, no sound occurs at all, but the curser runs. Does anyone has the same problem? I would appreciate to get some information about my problem.

This ought to be posted in either the PC or Mac forum - this one is for Finalescript plug-ins. You may get more/better replies if you ask it in the correct place.

If the problem is only in files from other versions, then perhaps there is an option somewhere that needs adjusting.
Try loading in your default 2007 document options, and look at the audio and playback settings. Is it set to Quicktime or Smart Music?
Do you have a MIDI setup? Perhaps it is sending MIDI output, but no audio?

Please let us know what machine and OS you use, and any other equipment / software that might be relevant.

MakeMusic tech supports has suggested to me for files created in PrintMusic which I now open in Finale 2007 may work best if I set up the score in Finale 2007 and then copy the notation from previous version (PrintMusic) into Finale 2007.  For the files that did to this with there was a vast imporvement.
