I have been back and forth with tech support (phone and email) daily since 9/3.. it's the 12th... They have told me that I've done this wrong & that wrong & all that jazz... today the truth finally came out. Here's a quote from their e-mail:

"I apologize for the confusion - I asked our product specialist to take a look at this issue, and you're right, there definitely is inconsistency in how the gradebook is calculating assignments. There is work being done on our end to resolve this..."

What? This is totally unacceptable! Who else has noticed the problem?

I've noticed this significant problem also.  See "update problem" below.

This glitch has completely destroyed the very reason that I am using SmartMusic: individual student management as a separate component of the overall grade.

Currently the only way I can see individual scores on each assignment is to click on each gradebook score and manually record the score to paper.  With 2500 assignments each semester,  this is impossible.  My 246 band students are asking if they can submit assignments but I am asking them not to submit any until this is fixed.

I am seriously evaluating my SmartMusic participation after being a local advocate and risk-taker to get it implemented.

Imagine asking self-motivated kids to NOT turn in assignments...

Scott,

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I just cannot fathom how a company with a main goal of grading can have a gradebook that doesn't work. Hopefully, for all of us, they fix it soon.
