I'm an user of Speedy Entry tool and I will get grip of the Simply Entry Tool.
I've played three parts in my daw. Bother are different notated.

I wil change an quarter note into an eight note and and rest eight. When I change the Quarter into one eight I can't insert an eight rest.... With Speedy Entry this is shft-4 but in Simply ? See upload.

As far as I know, there isn't an easy way to do that. When I need something like this, I change the first note to an eighth (select the note, tap OPT-4), and then use the mouse to click in an additional eighth note. Then, I tap the R key to turn it into a rest.

Another way would be to set your Somple Entry cursor to "eighth note", and then click on the quarter, which will change it to an eighth. Then, click in another eighth, and change it to a rest, as above.

Simple Entry, QWERTY keyboard, numberpad. That's my system, and I'm stickin' to it.

TGTools Modify Rests feature does this easily.

Excellent, Zuill. I was not aware of that one. Thank you.

I have a client who often wants me to change a half note to a dotted quarter followed by an eighth rest. Any shortcuts for that, other than dragging an eight rest into the note?
