I'm old, and I've forgotten more about Finale than I'll ever be able to relearn.

I'm using 14.5, and I want to set playback tempo in the Playback Window. I must have a tempo setting that's sticking somewhere else, although I've removed all visible tempo markings already. How can I globally remove all my score's tempo assignments so that I can again set playback tempo in the Playback window. Thanks.

It's either an Expression or MIDI data. Try clearing the MIDI Tempo data with the MIDI Tool.

Thanks. I selected all with the arrow tool and then used Clear selected items... from the Edit menu with both expression choices and all midi data selected in the selection window. The tempo settings in the Playback window are still grayed out. What else could cause it?

Okay, I did that again, only this time I deleted all markings as well as all midi data, and that restored tempo settings in the Playback window. Must have been another marking I missed. Thanks.
