Anybody know of any plug ins for simple line drawing, shading and shapes? For those of us who compose in a more aleotoric fashion?

I am not sure I understand.

1) You can draw lines with the Smart Shape Tool.

2) Finale has the Shape Designer, a drawing environment inside Finale.

When you ask for a plug-in, I suppose that you need something more, than the Smart Shape Tool and the Shape Designer can offer?

If I misunderstand you, then i apologize.

Yea, something simpler than the actual smart shape tool. For example, Microsoft word has a simple pallet of shapes, lines, arrows etc along with freehand pencils. I want to be able to draw right on my score in a simple type of format and not have to go through the shape designer. It's a pretty convoluted setup.

I have Finale 2011, is the Shape Designer a 2012 feature? Only thing I can find in 2011 is a the smart shape options where you can choose symbols and smart lines (been there and done that many times) and somewhat get creative with slurs and glissando lines.

Maybe this is a WIBNI. (Wouldn't it be nice if)

You have the Shape Designer in Finale 2011 as well (and in many earlier versions of Finale).

You can get to the Shape Designer from the tool you want to use:

If you want to use the Articulation Tool (to create a shape articulation), you get to the Shape Designer from the Articulation Designer.
(Click the radio button "Shape", and then click the button "Main…")

If you want to use the Expression Tool (to create a shape expression), you get to the Shape Designer from the Expression Designer.
(Click the radio button "Shape", and then…)
