Date Joined Jan 2000 Total Posts : 903 | Posted 10/19/2010 12:45 AM (GMT -6) | | Robert P., would you consider a fermata preferences interpretation option for a value in percentage of the _current_ tempo, which is dependent on the Time Signature? For example, I have tended to prefer fermata tempo interpretations to be at 50% of the current tempo when appied to note values of the same as the T/S denonimator, e.g. 1/4 for any/4, but at 25% if the note value is less that that, such as 1/8 or 1/16. Likewise, if the TS is any/8 then a fermata on an 1/8 should be at 50%, but at 25% when placed on a 1/16 or less. Also, a return to the current tempo should return _immediately_ after the note to which the fermata is applied.
