Yes Ron, I sent my file to MM support and they answered two days ago. The person in charge of my case told me "Instant Orchestra's Library handles dynamics differently than some of our other libraries" and gave me the following Garritan Knowledge Base link:

http://garritan.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5419

That link advices to turn on the Expression Switch under the Controls window in the Aria Player to solve the problems of a library performing playback different (playing dynamics in a different/too quiet volume in my case) than another library.

I found that link on my own days ago, and I turned the Expression Switch on (on my problematic file), and it didn't make any difference at all; the dynamics still sounded ridiculously quiet.

Panamerican: I have no idea if it will make a difference, but you might want to update your Aria engine. Your player is already up to date. The engine update takes it to v.1.670.

Thank you Arthur, I wasn't aware there was a newer Aria Engine... and I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it.

For what it's worth, I do have the latest Aria upgrade--and the problem with Jorge's file persists.

Thank you for that info Ron!

Guys, yesterday I received a second answer from MakeMusic Support and they gave me an interesting way (and more detailed) of facing and solving my IO playback problem.

Haven't had the time to try that solution yet. Maybe tomorrow. I'll tell you how that went.

I've been busy with a new job as music teacher in a high school (some of you might know how much energy that might take).

I am certainly pleased and surprised at how people in these forums are very participative and willing to contribute.

Thank you all; I'll keep posting any relevant news on this issue.

Good luck with your job as music teacher. One of the most important people during my adolescence was the music teacher in my high school who gave me private theory and violin lessons for free. When I taught high school several years later I was sad to see that there was no music program at all. Music is a language like any other and I was privileged to be taught music all through school though I could have done without the grade one teacher hitting me with her yardstick whenever my pitch was off.

Hello Panamerican, could you post the result? Or at least the answer from support, so we can try it here?

Thank you.

>>I have also noticed that I get a few small pops (crackling sounds) once in a while during playback<<

With respect to this issue, I notice that you are using Win7. I had this same problem a few years ago and finally traced it down to an issue with one of the programs that got loaded with my NVidia video drivers. Once I disabled that, no more pops. If your pops come at an almost exact 2 second interval, that is your problem.

I learned a long time ago that almost all Finale oddities not tagged as a true bug can be traced back to video cards and their drivers. This has been true since 1991, and is still true today.

p.s.-- Ignore my signature as well. I'm currently using Win8.1 and loving it.
