Has anyone developed techniques for accessing and using Speedy Entry in Finalescript?  As I work on files in a hymnal project I find little mistakes that need to be corrected through Speedy Entry (like accidentals) on 20 or so files.  I'd like to use scripts to do this rather than manually correcting 20 files for each error I find.  (I have 20 hymns -- 400 files -- that need some tweaks at the moment.)

I don't think it's possible. Finale scro]ipt is basically designed to call dialog boxes and select settings. It cannot select items in palettes or choose notes. If the change you need can be done this way (for example using a plug in) then FS will access it.

can you be more specific

A current example is that in Staff 4 ("Bass"), measure 18, beat 1, the note should have a courtesy accidental in front of it.  There are 20 files needing this correction.  If this could be scripted it would take only a few seconds by batch processing a folder with all 20 files.  Otherwise, it's a one-at-a-time scenario.

UCG Musician,

I suppose that you are already(?) aware of the plug-ins for "general" accidentals:

Plug-In menu > Note, Beam, and Rest Editing > Cautionary Accidentals…
and
Plug-In menu > Scoring and Arranging > Canonic Utilities…

This is not the same as the problem you describe (= batch processing 20 files for beat 1 in a specific measure), I know.
But the "general" accidental plug-ins might be useful for you in other situations.

Thank you.  That could have some application in this situation but, of course, the things that need fixing are different in each of the hymns.  Some of it couldn't be scripted no matter how hard I tried.

I did across something that might work for some situations -- using the Command Line Plug-In.  It can be programmed in FS but it's probably more work than just doing hymns one at a time!

The script will not select specific notes, nor will it operate Speedy note functions.
Frustrating maybe, but that is not the kind of work it was designed to do.

It's frustrating when we have to do things long hand, but sometimes that's just the way it is.
