I would like to write a script that replaces the Maestro accent with the more European looking EngraverFontSet accent

Here is what I tried.

search ">" [Maestro] 24 plain replace ">" [EngraverFontSet] 24 plain
search ">" [Maestro Wide] 24 plain replace ">" [EngraverFontSet] 24 plain

which doesn't work. How do I access the fonts used inside the articulations via Finalescript?

I don't think you can. It doesn't do a text search and replace within articulations.

Sorry I couldn't help you,
