I know all don't have it, but I use a 27" monitor and have plenty of screen space. I have all the toolbars and palettes available in 2012 open as icons along the top, left, and right edges of my screen. I have grown accustomed to using them. A great time saver. Please bring them back. Support case submitted. [EDIT] Make that monitor size inches (") not feet ('). Sorry!

One could of course relearn and only use keyboard shortcuts, but WHY? It was great the way it was before, why remove a feature that was already established and working. Wrong decision as far as I am concerned. Support case submitted. Hope there'll be more submissions, so that this will be fixed in the first update (as was the case with that unfortunate un-resizable score manager last time - people seemed to have complained a lot, and it was fixed pretty quickly!). I am so happy Finale 2014 is more "keyboard shortcut" oriented instead of silly mouse dependencies from circa 1992. (fighting words?)
But seriously, I'm happy 2014 is out and rockin'. | Back to Top

I fail to see how removing choice and customization is supposed to improve workflow. As a composer and a digital publisher, having all of the relevant tools (including page size and file menu) on my large monitor allowed me to streamline my work flow, something that appears to be the general theme of this upgrade. Removing choice and customization for no apparent benefit strikes me as very counterproductive. Please reconsider this. | Back to Top

In 2012 and before, when one changed layers, the Simple Entry Palette showed the color of the selected layer. I can't see that this is the case in 2014. Please tell me I didn't set things up right and there is a simple solution.

I like the icons more than the changing color for layer. Wish there were both available. Thanks for the heads up. [EDIT] All the others seem to already have a color associated with them, so that is probably why they don't change with layer.
