Hi All,
How do I tell Finale to place the CLOSED notehead in drum notation. I've edited my drum mapping to liking but can't seem to figure out how to use the closed notehead. In the drum map, it shows the notehead for open and closed. It seems by default, if I create a note in Speedy in the drum staff it only creates the open notehead. Do I need to press something in order to tell it I want the closed notehead that I've selected?
Thanks for any input.

I am unable to reproduce this problem. Could you post a file so that we can look at it?

It's not actually an error. I can't seem to
figure out how to place the open
notehead as oppose to the closed,
using speedy. I tried entering 6 and it
does give me the open notehead and I
turned off the check for extra notes, which
actually works... but what about entering
eighth notes with the open notehead?
I'm using the bass clef with GM sounds in
the drum map and I've got the percussion
font as tamburo.
Does this make better sense?? Thanks
for any input.

If the noteheads are going to be open throughout the piece, go back
to the percussion map and where is says closed notehead, just select
the open notehead of your choice. If the eighth/quarter/16th notes
are going to be mixed and matched (open and closed) enter them as
closed and then you will use the change noteheads with the special
tools.
I hoe this helps.
A hint also, if you change a percussion map and there are already
notes on the staff, they will not be changed to the new setting. At
least this has been my experience.
