Can anyone tell me why when I playback this file it runs for about 3 minutes, but when I highlight the last bar and press cmd-3 it tells me that it is only 2:40 or so? Seems that only one of the repeats is being considered. Planning a recording and need to know these things accurately without stopping to playback every time.

My guess is that there is something about the different repeat settings I don't understand but which is very simple.

One repeat is 1st/2nd ending. Other repeat is just simple repeat.

Thanks in advance.

No replies? Let me then ask related questions? Has anyone ever noticed this activity? And if it was a problem, what workaround did you use? Or more simply, can you duplicate this with my file?

I had the same problem.

IIRC, I just had to manually do the math to get a real ET. Actually wrote a little applescript app to help.

Well now that I reread the entire thread, maybe my issue was different than yours. At any rate, I did still write the script during that same project.....

Hi Ron,

in order to have Finale calculate also the repeats try selecting e.g on complete staff. Click left of the system with the selection tool and then go to check elapsed time in the Utilities Menu.
The manual seems not to be very clear there. If you select only one measure it seems to calculate without repeats.

cheers,

Wolf

I just noticed that the time indicated at the Final Bar is for the beginning of the bar, doesn't include that bar.
Have to play it to the end and catch the time, as it then reverts to the beginning of the last bar.
Repeats are included in the elapsed time on my Score.

Wolfwro, that worked for me. Select the measures for the whole piece, and then it calculates all the repeats correctly.
Thank you.
