I'd like to use ghosted notes or standard note heads in parenthesis. I'm thinking that they would be found as note heads, but they are not there. How can I do this in Finale?
Thanks

Hi,
If you use the Jazz Band template you can use the articulation tool to add brackets (no. 36)

Or, alternately, you can create an expression of parentheses or brackets with a few spaces in between them, in the font of your choice.

John,
I usually change the ghosted notes to an "x" notehead without brackets. I haven't had any complaints yet.

Thanks for the response everybody!
Jim, I've been using the X, but I always think that an X note is a cracked or split note.
Thanks again,
