Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to save as a .gif file within Finale? I'm using Finale 2006.

If you want to place the image of an existing GIF in your Finale document, you might first have to convert it to a TIFF. Microsoft Paint should do this (Windows XP).

If you want to create a new GIF as a screen-shot of your Finale document, try your PC keyboard "Print Screen" button, then paste into Microsoft Paint, then save as GIF.

You can save as a tiff file in Finale with the Graphics tool. Once saved, then you can convert it to a gif file in Windows imaging, or some other available program.

Sibelius 4 allows you to copy a file to the clipboard. I hope the next version of Finale has this. It is so much more convenient than saving as a tif.

Sibelius 4 Power Tools

Copy & paste to Word

To get music into other programs such as Microsoft Word, you no longer have to save a graphics file – just copy the music in Sibelius, then paste it straight into your Word document. So adding music to worksheets, essays and books now takes barely a moment.

There has to be a format of some sort. What kind of object is actually placed into Word?
