Is there a difference between Finale 2005 and Finale 2005 Academic?

Just the price (and maybe the packaging). To get the academic version, you usually have show some proof that you are either a student or teacher. I'm sure that MM's customer service can give you all the info you need.

The main difference is the license that is associated with it. The Academic version comes with a license that is for use by teachers and students. There probably are other limitations as far as what you can do with the files that you have created, but you would have you read the license agreement to know for sure.
