Greetings to all. I am writing bass parts for double bass to be played with my SATB Chorus. I put a Pizz. at the first measure and entered the score for the double bass. It is playing back in arco. I had this before and you guys helped but I don't remember what you said. Help again please from the old guy. Bill

We might need to see a file. It's sometimes hard to know what might be interfering. Is this with a Garritan KS bass?

Sometimes expressions like "pizz" don't take on the first note in a piece (and sometimes they do, go figure). What I do, if really stuck, is change the time signature to give me san extra beat (while displaying it as the original), then attach the expression to an initial hidden rest. You can usually get it to look like the expression is over the required note.
