Dear Finale Support,

Is there a Finalescript command to set the page setup whilst printing?

i.e. print page setup A4

Many Thanks

Hi Dave,
You can set the page format of the Finale page with a simple command. You can't set the Page Setup, sorry to say.
The former is easily done with:
page format A4
You can have the Print Options pop when you print via FS with a question mark after the FS print, such as:
print ?
Hope this offers a little help.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the reply, I will fiddle the the print ? command. If I set up a batch print command does the page set and print dialogue appear once and apply to all the files or does it appear for each file? Also, as FS is a plug-in, would it be very difficult to add a "page setup" command before the release for 2006?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Dave,
Sorry I haven't replied sooner.
My experience is that the Print d.b. appears for every document you batch print and that the page setup / print record is respected for the individual documents.
My test with Finale 2004b in 10.3.3:
file 1: Legal size paper Portrait orientation
file 2: Hymn size paper Portrait orientation
file 3: Letter size paper Landscape orientation
//start FinaleScript
batch process folder
print ?
//end FinaleScript
I was prompted for each file with the Print d.b., the printer request legal size paper appropriately and oriented the page properly on printout.
I have logged the FS feature request to control Page Setup.
Cheers,
