Hello! :)

I would like to create a script that would add the name of the part on the top left corner of the first page of each part, and the name of the score + the name of the part on the center of each page from the second page onwards of each part.. if that makes sense to you! Let me give an example:
I have a score titled "My Song" which has 4 instruments: piano, double bass, alto sax and trumpet.
What I want to do is: when I see the first page of the piano part, I want "piano" to be written on the top left of the page. From page 2 and onwards I want on the top center of the page (header) to write "My Song - piano".
The same applies to the rest of the parts.

Is this possible with a script?

Not as such, but you should be able to set that up once in the score and have it show in the parts.

First you should check your file info dialogue box to be sure that Title information is filled in, etc ...

Use the text tool to create a text block in the upper left hand corner and use the text insert "score/part name" in the drop down menu.

Then create a text block with the inserts "title" and "score/part name". Right click on the text block handle to bring the frame attributes dialogue box. In that box set the page to page range 2 (leave second box blank). Also set the Horizontal setting to Center (defaults to Left).

If you need a good walk through on how to create text blocks I would peruse the help page: http://www.finalemusic.com/support/learning-center/

Let me know if that helps out.
