Dear friends,
Again an issue.
Is it possible to automatize in any way making tremolo or double stroke, in such way that two consuctive 16s become one 8 with one slash (double stroke in strings)? I have thousends of MIDI exported double 16ths that I want to reduce to 8 with slash.

Thank you in advance.

Or at least removing every second 16 and making one 8.

To me, that would look odd. I can't remember ever seeing this particular abbreviation. I wouldn't do it.

I have seen that. It makes it explicit that the rhythm is measured and not a tremolo; a quarter note with two slashed might be misinterpreted, though of course one could write "non trem." or somesuch.

Zuill - exactly so.
I am a professional violinist, it is very common, very common in orchestral music.

I took it to mean an eighth followed by 2 sixteenths, repeated. Zuill's example looks OK to me.

I don't know of an automated way to do it.
