I just got "Your IP Address is banned from accessing this forum." I reset my broadband connection to get a new IP address and am back, but I wonder if this happened to anyone else, or if indeed someone tried to ban me.

Something similar if not the same happened several months ago.  I and many others were "banned" shortly until the site administrator got the fubar fixed.

Hey Guys,

This was a temporary issue on our end - We should be good to go now.

Yes, happened to me too, just half an hour ago. Now seems to work again, I haven't changed my broadband connection. Strange.

I thought maybe our complaining about losing this forum was the reason. But now it's back. For at least 3 weeks, anyway.

I was having the same issue, and I, too, thought it was in reprisal. But maybe not.

Ditto here, including the same personal doubts (was I too harsh in my denouncement of the closing of this forum?, etc.). Strangely, it happened to me as well when I tried logging in a few hours ago although when I logged in with Firefox, I was accepted. Are The Powers That Be™ trying to ween us off this forum?

Since I was able to get in via another IP address, and then that, too, was later blocked, I was extra paranoid. I did get help from Adam, which was reassuring.

It's when glitches like those strike that one depends on phone support. :-)

Not any more.

I have friends who call me after they phone support and don't get the answer they need. I guess I'll be their first call now.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, this "banned from the forum" issue has shown up before, back in August.  It was just a glitch back then as well as now.  I have not been banned this go-around!

This is a Mac thread.  There was one on Windows too.  https://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=6&m=482674&g=482728#m482728

For some reason I thought this was a Windows thread. That link looks like a Mac thread.

Zuill,

I said that it was a Mac thread in my post.  Win/Mac, what's the difference in this respect?  Your IP was banned.

Here is the issue being discussed in a Windows thread. http://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=5&m=482673

Seems rather like forum would get banned from you.
