The attached file is from a score I am working on. I reduced it down to just a single staff, and just eightnotes. There are no i=exoressions or manually inserted midi data. Can anyone explain why the tempo changes at measur 12>

Not much help really because I can't explain why - but if I select bar 12 and clear all midi data the problem goes away.

If a file starts out as a scan, MIDI import, XML import, etc. it might be a good idea to first clear all MIDI data and reconfigure this information as you like. Or, copy the entries into a clean template.

The MIDI Tempo data starts in bar 12 and continues through the end of the piece. Clearing the Tempo data fixes the problem if the data is unwanted, which it appears it is.

A few solutions:

1. Export to XML and then re-import
2. Turn off Human Playback

This is an issue with a LOT of files and MM knows about the issue as I have sent them file after file. I am not sure why it happens, but know it is related to Human Playback in some way and I get it with repeat signs, barlines and all kinds of different places.

Easiest solution: MIDI Tool, Edit Tempo, Select measures, Clear.

P.S.: Well, I guess this file is a bit stubborn. Plan B works: Select All, Edit, Clear Selected Items, None, Tempo Changes.

I have Import Tempo changes and Import Continuous Dara unchecked when opening MIDI files.

I've reported to MM that the MIDI Tool Clear method doesn't work with this file. I let them know that the Clear method changes the data, but it remains. The Clear Selected Items approach does work. I opened the file in 2014.5 and with the Tempo Tool, I could clear it. I let them know that I thought that removing the Tempo Tool removed functionality that, in this case in particular, would have been nice to have.
