Installed 25.2

Showing measure numbers in scroll view is a welcome change, however, there's a bug

If you type in a measure number and hit enter, the file will go to the correct spot, but the measure number will only update if you scroll

And another annoying aspect of this feature. You can't turn it off permanently!. If you de-select it under View/Show, it will crop up on the next file and further, it will not remember this preference when closing the file. Half thought fancy new feature IMO

That measure bar is an option for new files. In Preferences>New, there is a checkbox for this at the bottom. However, it ought to work properly, which it does not. Too bad.

Does it work on the Mac? Bizarre that it wasn't tested.

I am guessing it was tested, just not too carefully.

The TGTools Menu Shortcuts remains an issue in this update. My report was probably their first knowledge of the broken status, so maybe this update was already ready to go when I made my report.

I'm glad they're getting fixes out frequently. But adding a feature when others are broken seems odd.

I wonder if Herr Giesen needs to fix the TGTools problem.

I didn't see an announcement that 25.2 was out on this forum or the "new" one. Is lack of communication with the customer the new MO?

Regarding the measure number bar, the correct numbers show after a redraw. Ctrl-D can do that.

Edit: "Keep Octave Transposition in Concert Pitch" seems like a nice feature. It appears to work as expected, so far.

This (the rewind bug) has already been reported and acknowledged. I believe they intended to fix it in a future fix. I guess not this one (25.2).

This was not manifested in 25.1 (at least for me). But has bit me under 25.2; if it was with some under the prior version?

It's worth mentioning that MM have said this is one of "Multiple free-of-charge updates" that will be coming out.

Report your bugs now!

I'm very pleased that Simple Entry now maintains any accidental on a tied note over the barline, something I asked for comparatively recently.

I just heard about this today a few minutes ago in this thread.  After reading the thread, I restarted Finale, and the automatic update kicked in for me.

I'm not having this issue in 25.2, nor have I ever had it in any previous version that I can recall.  The issue I do have and have always had, is that the Pause button always resets to the beginning instead of just pausing so you can pick up playback from where you stopped.  Resuming playback after a pause always starts from the beginning.

In order for the bug to show, one needs to choose playback from current counter setting.

OK Zuill,

I didn't realize you needed to be in that mode of playback.  Upon further reflection, maybe it is intended behavior to always start at measure one, if that is the mode you have chosen, even though you pause playback with the intent to pick back up where you left off.  Also, pause seems to work OK if you start from current counter setting.  Makes more sense now.

Like others, I was surprised that I didn't see anything on the forum or an email announcing this update. My automatic update did present it to me.

Despite the issues raised above, I believe we should congratulate Makemusic for trying to make the more frequent updates work. I had gone 6 weeks with minimal Finale activity, but in the last 3 weeks, I have had 9 separate Finale projects (ranging from 30 minutes to 20 hours). At 25.1 I found I was crashing fairly regularly on a couple of those projects. The system recovered with minimal loss, so I didn't take the time to try to figure out what was causing the crash. Since putting on 25.2 I have had no crashes. As I still have another 7 projects to finish before Christmas, I do appreciate that.

Some us us have been vocal when the company has not done so well with updates. I think we owe them thanks for their recent efforts, and encouragement to continue on that path.
