Posted By : Zuill - 11/29/2016 2:33 PM | I have just installed Finale 25.1 and have discovered conflicts between Version 25.1 and earlier versions when it comes to TGTools Menu Shortcuts (TGTools Lite).
When I go back and forth between v25 and 2014.5, for example, shortcuts change in strange ways (modifier keys added, for example). I have the numberpad 0 used for ties in Speedy entry, but this doesn't work in v25.
I have started a support case, but am wondering if I'm the only one.

Posted By : Wlgold - 11/29/2016 2:58 PM | TGTools menu shortcuts are stored in the registry and the registries are different for 32 and 64-bit programs. There would appear to be a flaw in Finale 25 setup when the keys are copied from one place to another. Having said that, I don't know a quick way to fix it.

Posted By : Zuill - 11/29/2016 3:20 PM | It's a real mess. For now, I delete all the shortcuts after working in v25, then recreate them in 2014.5. After working, I delete those, and recreate them in v25. Regardless, the 0 for ties is not usable in v25. Too bad. Lots of extra work. Quite frustrating.

Posted By : Zuill - 11/29/2016 3:31 PM | I am hesitant about editing the registry out of an abundance of caution. I don't have that many shortcuts.

Posted By : Zuill - 11/29/2016 3:40 PM | If I look at the shortcuts in v25, they are wonky. If I don't edit them, and then go back to 2014.5, they are still good there. So, I will forgo editing or trying to use any shortcuts in v25 until this gets fixed, which could be a few years.

It seems likely that no one at MM thought to test this, so do report it if you haven't already. Finale 2014.5, 2011b, 2005, TGTools Windows 7, MIDI input Finale Transposition Chart |

Posted By : Zuill - 12/2/2016 7:08 PM | Got the official word that this is definitely an issue. I guess I was the first to notice it. I also guess none of the Beta Testers use the Menu Shortcuts, at least not the Lite version. Maybe the Full version works, but not the Lite. I would like it to be fixed. Maybe in 25.2, maybe in 26.

Posted By : Zuill - 12/3/2016 1:01 PM | And, do the same shortcuts work in older versions?
