Lyrics -> Lyric options -> Word extensions -> Use smart word Extensions....
Is it possible to get rid of these disturbing lines as default?

The option “Use Smart Word Extensions” is document specific.
If you de-select the option in the file you use for your new documents, then all your new documents will have “Use Smart Word Extensions” de-selected as default.

Just wondering why you find them disturbing. To a singer, they are really helpful.

There are reasons not to have them. If one is using lyrics for other types of data, then they might not be necessary. Figured Bass is one possibility. Also, there is a way to turn the automatic extensions off, but still launch them when needed. This might be the need.
