Hi!

Ex. If I write (using speedy entry) for example f# a f# a f# a f# a, as eightnotes and then transpose the last four one octave (using massmover and pressing 7) the f sharp is no longer a f sharp. It's a f natural...??? Am I missing something here? Finale will play it right but the notation is wrong! This is just one of many problems with accidentals. It would be much easier if the playback was wrong too. Any ideas what I can do?

Hi again!

Try this...

With Speedy put f# a f# d f# a f# d as eightnotes in one bar. Then transpose the last four one octave. The accidentals on the two f# are gone. The delete the last note in the bar (d) with speedy... Guess what? The accidental before f is there again ????
Why?

This occurs because when you imput the notes the accidental was not needed for there was a prior one in the measure. Finale doesn't correct this when you transpose it. You need to manually use the "*" key in Speedy to show the accidental or you can Select All with the MassMover and use MassMover/Utilities/Check Accidentals to correct every instance of your problem in the whole file.

Thanks for the tip!

I'll try that...but still I don't understand why I have to do that manually. The accidental doesn't apply to all octaves - and that's common notation praxis.
