Just installed Sierra and Finale 25. Works great(ish) except for (no surprise) good old Aria. Cannot find or does not load "native" Aria Instruments for default new file. GPO5, JABB etc. works, but going through the annoying steps of "OK-ing Makemusic's fails regarding Aria Finale version after Finale version is disheartening.
Notice in the screenshot that Aria Instruments in top left is a blank library, while GPO is complete.
I will not be surprised to learn there is no fix for this, nor one forthcoming, as there hasn't been for any of the numerous previous Aria plug-in/playback snafus. This is just an fyi to those of you who are experiencing the same old, same old. |

Aria does not. it loads whatever instruments you have installed. if your instruments are properly installed then it will see them and allow you to load them.
That said, the instructions and steps for loading libraries and having Finale recognize them are - to say the least - arcane. And everyone knows that frost does way more DPS than arcane. (total nerd joke) Finale (started with ver. 3.0) using 2012 (2014 has been shelved for its lack of support for older Garritan libraries) under Windows 8.1 basically ALL Garritan libraries, plus XSample Chamber Ensemble.

Finale 25 changes the default location of GIFF samples to /Users/Shared. I had a bit of bother just with GIFF - I don't have any others. But it's likely that ARIA is looking in the wrong place after the Finale 25 installer pointed it at the new location.
You may want to look at the Garritan preference files in /Library/Preferences (top level, not user Library). For example, com.Garritan.Instruments for Finale.plist contains the location of GIFF samples thus:
<key>sample_dir</key> <string>/Applications/Garritan Instruments for Finale/GIFF_Samples</string>

I've had no problems w/Fin 25, and Playback, up to 24/192, with my Mytek Dac, is the best it's ever been. I'm guessing you never Installed Aria or GIFF, that's why they aren't there. Just a follow on to this.
If you downloaded the trial and then purchased Finale 25, you *need* to re-download Finale from your account paqe with MakeMusic
The trial version does not include GIfF nor Aria
Cheers... Daz. :o)
