I can now hide and show leger lines once I realised that everywhere in Finale they are miss-spelled "ledger lines"

I never realised that light lines (leger in French) had anything to do with accounting!

I think "ledger" is the preferred spelling in American English. The Merriam-Webster dictionary lists "leger line" as a variant.

Are you sure of the "light" etymology? "Ledger" apparently has a meaning "horizontal board" in addition to the book. The "light" etymology does seem plausible, though.
