In the frantic hours here - I'm noticing troubling new behavior, but maybe this is just a tool I don't fully understand.

I was under the impression that I could resize measures in parts using the measure tool, and those changes would be maintained and not affect other parts. Suddenly, the changes I make w/ the measure tool (like making one measure larger to accommodate a tempo marking etc.) are not maintained. If I toggle to another part, and right back - without even doing anything - the corrections I made w/ the measure tool are gone.

I realize you might need a file for a full answer, but I have absolutely no time to prepare one. Any insight here would be appreciated - maybe I'm not understanding the way the tool works with linked parts?

Be sure to turn off Document Options / Multimeasure Rests / Update Automatically. That can cause respacing if there's a multimeasure rest in the system. When you do this, though, if subsequently add notes to those measure with rests, you need to regenerate rests in that area.

Also make sure that automatic music spacing is turned off (but automatic update layout is always turned on).
