Hi -

I'm having a problem getting my tempos to work properly. I am entering them as Tempo Marks under the Expressions Menu. When I enter it, though, the tempo only seems to apply to the first measure, then it defaults to 120bpm.

I've tried changing the settings in the expression, and I've tried changing the tempo in HP.

I'm not sure where else to look.

Can you help me find what I'm missing?

Thanks,

Lindy

Lindy,

Can you post the file here? That would be the best way to troubleshoot your problem.

Sure. It's just the intro and opening bars of "Silver Bells." I'd love to finish it in time for my big band's Christmas shows, but even though the tempo is too fast, it's actually slowing me down. :-)

Thanks,

Lindy

There's some hidden midi data which is affecting the tempo. Just select the entire chart, go to the edit menu "Clear Selected Items", choose midi data, OK.

Now when you add a new tempo expression it should work.

That got it, Jetcopy. (Now, I'd love to know how that MIDI data got entered without my knowledge. Maybe the Setup Wizard did it?)

Thank you!

Not the Setup Wizard. Did you run the Apply Human Playback feature?

Zuill

P.S.: Nothing else in the file indicates the plugin was added. The Tempo Tool (since this files was created in Finale 2012, that was still a feature) or the MIDI Tool are 2 of the ways that data can be added. Or, if you copied from another document that had the data this could happen.

I'm not sure about the 2012 transfer connection. I did begin the arrangement in F2012, but then I started over in F25.1. I did copy/paste some parts of it from the 2012 file, so I'm guessing that might have been the culprit.

I appreciate the input. Thanks.
