It seems I can Print using FinaleScript. But I can't find a way to create PDF files

Together with Batch that would make a very helpful script.

if you have a pdf printer, and just this printer installed on on computer, you can use the batch printing script...
but you have to disconnect your "real" printer...

Why not ?

If you have a PDF driver installed simply set it to be your default printer, then type this script:

batch process folder
print

If you're on the Mac, and want to use the built-in OSX stuff, then you'll have to pop the print dialog box for each document:

batch process folder
print ?

I know it's a drag to have to click the Save as PDF button each time, but it does cut down on the number of clicks/keystrokes to make PDF's.

I'll pass along the suggestion to be able to PDF directly from FS.

Hope this helps,

Allen

Thanks Allen

In Mac OS 10.3.5 it's not possible to select PDF as printing default (maybe by deleting or de-activating all other printers; I have five printers....). Of course you're right that hitting RETURN once in the print dialog is better than having to open the Print Dialog, etc, etc.

I found that Quickeys can do that - print a PDF file from an open file. So now I am working on a AppleScript to walk through my folder opening files while Quickeys does the printing. Timing is a bit of an issue. It would be very helpful if FinaleScript had a link to AppleScript.

The biggest reason I am interested in Plug-ins is the possibility of having Finale do some custom things.

Anyway, these are around 500 files which need to be exported every so often and doing that by hand is quite a chore.

Peter--

Make sure that you voice your support for AppleScript support over on the thread for what you want to see in FinaleScript in the future. AppleScript support has been discussed over there, so make sure you get your two cents in. ;-)
