I would like to create a finale script that processes all of the files in a single directory, change the left and right margins and then append a suffix to the file names before saving them. I'm a little gun shy because i managed to do a fair amount of damage doing something wrong and doing it recursively. Live and learn. Anyway, if someone could help me out or point me to a sample to follow, that would be hugely appreciated.

See my response to a similar request.

It does not change the name.  You can do that with a "Save As..." within Finale, or change the name outside of Finale.
