Hi!

I´ve got the new iMac G4, connected to an
Emagic MT4 MIDI interface through USB.
I´ve got no problems playing back what I
write with the Simple entry tool, but I´m
not able to use the Speedy Entry-Tool (no
input).
I´ve selected the MT4 as output and input.

I found when first using it that I had to switch around the MIDI in/out positions. Eventually it worked no problem, and has been absolutely faultless ever since.

Not much help, but it may be worth trying...

Hi Dagfinn,

I've got the same constellation on a
Powerbook G3, and the same problem!

Logic works fine with the interface, but
Finale doesn't.

It's a pain!

I hope somebody can help.

Hi Matthew and Martin, thanks for
posting!

I've now sorted out (Eureka)! OK, my
setup is my iMac G4 connected to a MT4.
Master Keyboard: Technics P30 (MIDI In
1/MIDI Out 1)
Synthmodules: Roland JV-1010 (MIDI Out
2) and Korg 03R/W (MIDI Out 3).
Finale 2001d
***
Configure OMS with your Masterkeyboard
as the first "New Instrument", and then
you add the rest of your synths. (To see
the MT4 icon in OMS, the Unitor driver
must be placed in the OMS preference
folder in your systemfolder)
Open Finale->MIDI Setup
Select your Sythmodule as Output device,
your Masterkeyboard as Input device.
Then select MIDI Through -> Smart.
(And than everything works fine...)

What confused at the first place was
this last part. I was looking at MT4 as a
kind of Modem Port, and therefore I
selected MT4 as Input and Output device.
Then I read Chapter 8 page 8 in the
PDF-Manual about MIDI, and then, here
we are! (No, I will never learn the lesson
about checking the manual first. I'm no
moralist...)
