I have updated my homepage with online demos and detailed descriptions of my upcoming Finale plug-ins including an automated page layout plug-in which will be a huge time saver for many Finale layout tasks.
elbsound.studio/finale_plugins.php

The new website also contains a comprehensive music related font list with more than 900 entries and a huge music font comparison that I created with the new Finale House Style Changer plug-in.
It shows four musical examples created with 150 music fonts.
elbsound.studio/music_font_comparison.php
elbsound.studio/music_fonts.php

I hope this will be a valuable resource for you.

Any comments, suggestions or wishes for more automated tasks in Finale are very welcome.

I built the plug-ins with Jari Williamson's great JW Lua plug-in development kit. So here again a big thank you to Jari and his fantastic contributions to Finale. JW Lua is still in beta and so are the plug-ins that rely on it. I expect Q3/Q4 to be the release date.

Best,
Jan Angermüller

Have you checked the Youtube videos that are already on the website ?
Every plug-in has at least one Youtube video on its subpage.

Is there anything special you would like to see ?

Best,
Jan

Yes, some of these look interesting and useful.
Now the only question is the price.

Finale (started with ver. 3.0) using 2012 and now 2014 under Windows 8.1
basically ALL Garritan libraries, plus XSample Chamber Ensemble.

If anyone is interested in more background info on the music font comparison, the OF NOTE blog published an article I wrote on 3rd party music font integration in Finale:

Question: will the plugins be supported under the new 64bit architecture?

Question: will the plugins be supported under the new 64bit architecture?

That depends on:
1.) MakeMusic and if they update their Plugin SDK to 64bit (probably) or make an interface that allows 32bit plugins to work (probably not).
If they don't, then no old plugins can be converted to the next version of Finale, which I don't think will be very likely scenario, but it's possible.

2.) Jari Williamson and if he will update his Plugin SDK
If he doesn't, then his own plugins won't work anymore. Something that many users will definitely miss. Another unlikely scenario.

3.) Jari Williamson and if he will update his JW Lua kit
That's the biggest question. Only Jari knows the answer. But probably he cannot tell it right now, because it might be part of the NDA with MM that the official plugin developers had to sign.

I have updated the Finale Music Font Comparison to v2.0.
It now includes 50 new music font families (200 in total), a new contemporary notation example, improved engraving and rendering quality and direct linking (e.g. link to "Maestro" in example 2).

A few examples:

All 1000 font images were automatically rendered in Finale with the upcoming JW Lua House Style plugin.
Unfortunately I can't tell you an exact release date yet. It depends on further releases of Jari Williamsson's JW Lua which has not been updated in the last 12 months and I have no idea, if and when the necessary updates will be published by Jari.
If you like the project, you may consider a donation to Jari's Finale plugin development.

Happy holidays!
