I found the following expression maps lurking compressed in my Downloads folder. I think they are related to the GPO5 install. Can anyone tell me where they are supposed to go, since I cannot find uncompressed versions in any of the usual folders (and MM supports was not helpful)?

Finale 2014.5, Finale 25.1 - Windows 7 (64-bit)
GPO 5, JABB 3, World Instruments
TG Tools Full, (Sonar Platinum, Dorico)

It says v1.0. Maybe that is an old download.

I can find no such files anywhere on my system that has GPO4.02 and GPO5.01 installed.  As Zuill says, this looks to be an extremely old and out of date file, i.e. Garritan_v1.0.  Whatever EXPRESSIONMAP files are, and in what Garritan product they are used or may have at one time been used, is beyond me.

I've been using Garritan since it first came out and cannot recall seeing files like these.

Those are basic key-switching templates for the score and key MIDI editors of Steinberg's Cubase/Nuendo range of products.

They can also be loaded, modified, and used in Dorico 1.10 if you add ARIA Player to the whitelist.

They are useless for any version of Finale.

Then they are (apparently) Dorico related.
Thanks.

Yes, and some Garritan Libraries do indeed come with Cubase expression maps for many of the KS instruments. GPO4 did for sure.
Such maps should be fine for much of GPO5 as well.

For the newer Garritan Orchestral Strings in GPO5 you'll probably need to make new expression maps for Cubase/Dorico if you want and use them. When making your own maps, you can mix and match KS instruments with the technique of channel hopping to individual instruments/articulations loaded in multiple ARIA slots.

Actually, they're Cubase related, though might work in Dorico at some point.

Dorico can import Cubase expression maps (although not all features are currently implemented in Dorico).

Did one get the GPO4 expression maps via Steinberg, Garritan/MM, or Northern Sounds?
