Recent Menu should work: sounds like your com.makemusic.finale.plist file might be corrupt. Find it (in ~/Library/Preferences) and destroy.

Why not delete it from the Score Manager? Are you sure it's not a two-stave instrument, like a piano?

Do you have the monitors as one big Desktop, or each as two separate ones? If one big one, then the windows should just remember their positions. If two, then you might want to assign Finale to one...
