sad Im not having any luck installing sample of product on my Mac because the program does not seem to support my perfectly good Samson CO1U USB condenser mic. Bluetooth headphones yes, USB condenser mic no. Is there a way to override the list at setup and add my mic?

Have you tried using the mic, but not the Bluetooth headphones?

I know it seems counter-intuitive that the USB and Bluetooth would conflict with each other, as they are separate pieces of hardware, but I thought I would just throw that out there.

Another question: Does the Samson appear in the Audio tab of the Mac Audio/MIDI setup? You can find that in Applications\Utilities\Audio MIDI setup.

I hope that helps!

Have not even used bluetooth headphones...not even charged...but program setup recognized them from devices stored on computer. I will try deleting from list, but usb mic is on list of input devices but setup program wont recognize.--CL

Bassoondr,

In general, we find these kinds of microphones don't work as well as the SmartMusic instrumental and vocal microphones. We take a lot of time testing mics, and we work hard with the SmartMusic mics to reduce ambient noise and overtones so that the program assesses and records well. More expensive microphones actually provide a richer series of overtones and provides too much information to SmartMusic sometimes, depending on the mic.

Technical support isn't able to offer too much troubleshooting with other microphones, but Trombonamaphone's advice is pretty accurate. Just make sure that you select the specific device in SmartMusic. If it's not listed, you'll need to dive into the Utilities Folder's "Audio/MIDI Setup" to make sure the device is configured for audio applications' use.

Thanks,

James H. Anderson
