I have never tried scanning with FInale, but in other OCR (optical character reader) applications, I have found that even a 5% error rate requires just as much time to correct as re-entering everything manually.

Yes, it's a bit disappointing with the included "lite" version of scanning. I sometimes could get something useful but nothing like the promo's led me to believe. I finally got fed up and bought Sharpeye and am very happy, I just had to cough up the dough to get useable results. I resented the included scanning limitations, that I felt it reflected on the full version and wasn't willing to take a risk there. They should put enough quality in the lite version to at scan a simple 1 page sheet without crashing unexplainably. I am attaching a single sheet scan that I tested with 2005b & 2006c by scanning them in. At least it didn't crash the program suddenly and it scanned in with 1 missing note that had an articulation above it the this version can't handle. If it worked that good most of time, I could have achieved limited success with it. Maybe you would like to test the file with your setup for comparison.  (By the way, Sharpeye 2.67 scanned this in with 0 errors and brought over the lyrics and chords)

Download a free 1 month trial of Sharpeye. Scan in black and white, or text, or line art, or what have you. (No Gray Scales or color.) (about 330 dpi.) Before "recognizing" with Sharpeye or anything else, you must crop your .tiff image very carefully. i.e. scan only the music staves and be sure you do not get edges of pages in your recognition field.
