Michel,

I just found and listened to your Symphony in C. For those interested, it's included with the sample files from the 2007a update. I especially like the dedication.

despite anyone else's feelings about Tyler or Robert, their help to me while I was working on this piece was immense and unconditional.
they went far out of their way to help with any technical issues I had at the time.
happily, this also lead to improvements in the way HP deals with certain musical details.
I felt it was right to include them in the dedication.

the actual dedication on the frontispice of the score reads:

Symphony in C opus 34
In loving memory of my father

With special thanks to Tyler Turner and Robert Piéchaud
for their invaluable assistance during the preparation of this score

I just hope that this doesn't become some sort of issue for other forum members.

If anyone is interested in hearing the entire symphony, it is available on my website.

I just want to say that I know LOTS of Michel's music, and he is a FANTASTIC composer! smilewinkgrin

ok, that does it!

NO ONE calls me a "fantastic composer" and lives!

everyone knows I'm a "fabulous" composer!!!

speaking of fantastic composers, Alan here is not too shabby either

boy.. we just turned the Finale forums into a mutual admiration society!

BTW, if I may add, another of our forum members recently completed his 3rd symphony, and I HAVE to say that it is one of the most stunning works I've heard in years.

And I have been to a live performance of one of Michel's works, his cello sonata, which is fantastic--so I guess I'm dead.

The same concert presented two works by Alan which impressed me with their strength and sure-handiness. It was one of my highlights of 2006. Thanks to both of you.

you are getting spam because your mail is visible - on your page, not from here - for sure.
You have to remove e-address or to use a script to make it hidden.

The easiest way to protect your web site e-mail from spammers is to insert extra digits or letters, for example ---

If your e-mail address is myself@myplace.com, then show it as myselfZZZ@myplace.com or myself@ZZZmyplace.com with a note to remove the Zs before sending.

I did this inconjunction with changing my e-mail address at the beginning of 2006 and have received less than 1/2 dozen spam e-mails during the entire year. (Actually, I can recall only 3 or 4.) That is in contrast to 2005 when I received several hundred.

To encrypt e-mail addresses on a web site, I've used the Enkoder before with success.

You could also just write it like this: myemail (at) address (dot) com.

actually, what I was getting was email messages from people asking me for pirated copies of Finale products!

WHY, oh WHY were people turning to me for that?
Does my face LOOK like a hacker's face?

(btw, returned the link to my website in my sig.
the website isn't finished yet, and it's really more of a place to keep some of my music when I want people to hear it.
it's also useful for putting up exercises for some of my online students)

Michel, the Return of the Link has .com instead of .ca as top level domain. That is of course another way to protect yourself from evildoers
