What is the learning curve for someone who switches from Printmusic to finale? Also i have a ton of files in Printmusic that i need to access with Finale and when I did it before all of it was non sense characters. Is there a way I can read my current music with the new program?

It should be seamless. Check that Finale is recognizing the correct fonts (see sticky thread "Weird symbols instead of music" for details). Other than than, everything from PM should work exactly the same in Finale, plus you'll be able to do more things. Your learning curve should be really short.

(PS) add a subject line to your post and more people will read it. I'd do it for you, but only the original poster can do it.
