I'm doing simple 4-part harmony for a women's barbershop chorus using PrintMusic 2007. Most of the chorus members have now downloaded NotePad, and I'm sending them scores to use for practice. On one song, and one song only, I'm having problems with midi playback. The green playback carat jumps all over in certain measures and makes it impossible to try to read the score and listen at the same time. It happens whether I'm playing back in PrintMusic or NotePad, and always at the same place. It (so far) only happens on one song. And it doesn't happen when I play back in scroll view. Does anybody have any ideas? TIA - sheureka

I've only seen this in Finale when using independent time signatures, which is a feature I don't think PrintMusic has. You might want to post a file here so users of PrintMusic 2007 or Finale 2007 might be able to troubleshoot the file.

I've been experimenting, and changing things and I think I've figured part of this out, though it sounds really bizarre. It seems to be related to the blue triangle/bracket issue. When I change the bracket I get the jumping playback cursor. When I delete the bracket all together it doesn't seem to jump around anymore. So it seems it's another Vista problem. Very, very strange. - sheureka
