Hi all,

I play trumpet but want to use garritan to sample french horn sounds.  What is the best way to play into finale (or any other program) live sounds on trumpet, convert them to midi, including velocity settings, and then use garritan libraries to convert them to other sound, particularly wind sounds?

Thanks!

What you are looking for is MicNotator. You play into a mic and Finale will notate it as you play (disclaimer: I have never used this and have no idea how badly it works; I just know it exists). Once you have it as notation, you can set it to play back with whatever instrument you want.
