Had to upgrade my computer to Windows 7 and get the Play version of EWQLSO (Symphonic Orchestra Gold) and am having a time loading the "Play" player. The output channels seem to be combined. There is no channel "1" through "8" to load in the browser, instead channels are listed as "1-2" through "17-18." So I loaded an instrument to "1-2," and assigned it to Finale's channel 1 on the instrument list, and assigned "3-4" to channel 3 in Finale, etc. After loading 3 instruments in Play, the 4th one ("7-8") loads into all the channels and staffs preciously loaded.
I guess what I'm asking, is does anyone here know how to load an instance of "Play" with more than 4 instruments, or have a link? Am having no luck.
Thanks for any help!

Your signature says that you use Finale 2007, which I haven't looked at in ages but as I recall it's similar to Finale 2010, which sets up VST instruments in 8 separate banks of 16 MIDI channels each. If you load PLAY into the "1-16" bank, then click the icon to open up PLAY inside Finale, you should be able to load up 16 instruments of your choice inside PLAY (assuming your CPU and RAM give you permission to do so, of course).
I'm not sure what you're looking at when you say the output channels are combined, though it sounds like you're describing PLAY and not anything having to do with Finale. You're describing stereo audio channels, so I think Bill is correct, and based on what info you've provided it looks like you're having a PLAY issue, not a Finale issue. I can't think of a reason why you would have trouble loading X instruments corresponding to X channels inside of PLAY operating as a VST Finale plugin, aside from your RAM limits, if any.
If I were you, I would check out the East West support site and also, if necessary, post this question at their equivalent of this forum (which you'll find at the bottom of their support site). You might also want to upgrade to the current version of Finale and, for sure, to the latest version of PLAY.

The Audio settings are in the lower right of the player. Output 1-2 is stero out, thus the combined numbers. Just leave them all set to 1-2.
Be sure to uncheck "Send patches before play" in the Instrument list on the Finale side. Getting rid of that checkbox is the only thing I like about Score Manager!
