Hi All,

I'm using EWQLSO with Play in Finale and every time I open a saved file I have to reload the instruments which is very time consuming. Is there a way for Finale to save the loaded instruments?

I'm using Finale 2010.

Kind Regards,

Andy

They used to re-load in the older Kompakt instrument. I don't get it.

Since I don't use third party sounds, I can't say. I've just heard. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected. Others will chime in here.

I'm not sure I understand that problem here. Do you mean to suggest that the instruments should stay loaded in RAM after the file is closed? As a former programmer, I find that idea appalling. Most would call that sort of behaviour a bug.  If loading instruments is slow, then perhaps you need a faster and more efficient system.

The OP may be saying that every time he opens a file, the slots are empty. The only VSL add-on's I use are Garritan, and they stay loaded. I do, however, use a 3rd party reverb which has to be reset each time. It's a nuisance, but the results are so much better than Ambience that it's worth it. Contact customer service to verify.

BTW, the Convolution reverb built in to the newer versions of the Aria player is also a lot better than the Ambience reverb. No need to use 3rd party reverb and it's fast and easy to use. As far as loading sounds is concerned, Ron's right: on a newer system, especially with an SSD, loading a whole orchestra of samples can be a really fast process.

One solution to this is to use Vienna Ensemble Pro. Not only can you load your samples into 64bit memory space, you can preserver all loaded instruments when you switch pieces.
