is anyone familiar with this?

Play Finale through VST is selected
I want to load some sf2 sounds that I have
the player shows up as sfz in the devices at the instrument list (score manager) and I choose it
then I go to edit player and the sfz player opens just fine
I load the sf2 file and then choose an instrument I want to use (which I can hear correctly in the player)
but when I start playback, the szf player ALWAYS reverts to Program 1 (piano) instead of playing the instrument I've selected

any suggestions as to where the problem might be?
or, is there another player that works better/simpler?

I am not at all familiar with the original sfz VST, but I can point you toward a YouTube video I made on the "sequel" plug-in sfz+ at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx9l_daE0bw - hopefully that will get you pointed in the right direction with using Soundfonts in a VST host.

Thanks, looks quite useful, although I haven't yet downloaded the sfz+ player. Found a quick work-around by changing the Current Sound Font in the SoftSynth settings to the one I wanted to use.
