I've got a piece with two endings. Everything is fine on the first ending--except that the opening bracket for the backward repeat (not sure if that's the right term) won't break between the two lines of music. Instead, it just begins on the second line and extends to the left into the margin rather than beginning over the last two measures of the line above. It looks correct in scroll view, but when I go to page view, it doesn't split.

Which Finale program are you using? (Full Finale, PrintMusic, Notator, etc.)

Finale 2012 - Windows 7
GPO 4, JABB 3, World Instruments
TG Tools Full, (Sonar X2 Producer)

I am having exactly the same problem with Finale 2011. I highlight the measures to be included in the first ending the when I change the view to page view, the upper line of the ending extends across the pages as if I were still in scroll view. My first ending is 11 measures in one spot and three measures in a second place.

The ending is divided into 2 parts. It has always been that way. You'll need to adjust each end as needed. If it spans a system in between, it's not necessary for there to be a line. If you want it, add it as a Smert Line.

My ending line DOES need to span the system to indicate where the first ending starts; otherwise it's possible that the pianist may play two measures of it before going to the second ending...and that would sound weird.

If you have a sample file, and don't know how to fix it, someone here can fix it for you.

Well, now that we have that in triplicate, can we have a file to help with?
