Hi all,

I've been working with an old file, and finished making the score. Now I'm working on the parts, and for whatever reason, the tempo marking and tempo alterations aren't showing up in the parts. It's not the Score List assignment, either. If I delete the marking or alteration in the score and re-apply it, then it shows up just fine. So, I guess I have a solution... it's just weird. Is there any way to fix this on a global level, rather than go through and re-do each tempo mark? (Obviously tedious, but I also run the risk of missing some, which will cause problems later.)

If this helps indicate any other issue, there was also some weirdness with creating mulitmeasure rests. Seemingly empty measures sometimes wouldn't combine into a multimeasure block, without me going to the score, "clearing all" selected items. Then, for whatever reason, they would merge. Can anyone help identify a greater problem I can't see? Thanks!

Without seeing a file, we would be just guessing. I imagine it's some setting in the Category Designer.

I doubt that anyone could come up with a meaningful solution without being able to examine the file. Perhaps you could post the file? Otherwise it's just guesswork ...

Yes, I understand. I have hesitations, because this isn't my own work, it's my client's. I'm not sure if I can isolate the issue. I can try, if anyone thinks they might have an idea. Is my explanation of the problem clear enough?

Also, in case there was any confusion, other things, like technique text appeared in the parts just fine.

Actually, I just fixed it! I changed the score assignment from list 1 to list 2 (which made them appear!) and then back to list 1 (for OCD reasons). They still appeared when I switched back to list 1. Still weird, though! I suppose my issue is resolved, but I wouldn't mind discussing this, if anyone wants to investigate further (although I know Finale has a myriad of oddities that are worth investigating).

When you converted the 2006 to 2012, did all the expressions appear as Miscellaneous and then you moved them to the various Categories? If so, did you choose to update each expression by using Reset to Category?

As far as MM rests, we would not know what was there that might be set to break a MM rest without seeing a file, which won't happen in this case.

Yes, that's right, of course. I haven't used that function before, but it sounds handy. I've been using this program for seven years now, and there's still a lot I don't know. It's probably mostly simple stuff I have always habitually overlooked, too!

Don't worry about the rests, I was just trying to provide some more context, in case it was helpful. Thanks, though!
