Has anyone else tried the Notion app from the App Store? It is absolutely incredible. Found myself without a computer and needed to do some composing. The Notion app exceeded my expectations. I really hope Finale develops something for iOS.

I've had it for some time and find it stable and effective, providing I don't have a huge amount to do.
Passing files to the PC version of Notion is also easy.
Don't like the notation on the PC Notion, though--can't pass it out on a job or rehearsal.
Notion is another good tool in the kit.

Agreed. It has a number of shortcomings (read over the forum) but in general, as Jim says, it's a good thing to have.

There are several apps that can create notation on iOS, and many of them can export MusicXML. MakeMusic have binned their .mus file reader on the iPad, and if that means thay've got more resources to concentrate on Finale proper, then that's a good thing.

Create on the go with any old thing: import to Finale for the finishing touches.

Dang! Songbook was why I bought the iPad in the first place. Maybe should've gotten a Surface. At least now I can upgrade to iOS 8 without regrets.
