I have recently upgraded to Finale 2014, and a niggling problem has resurfaced yet again. Whenever I load Finale the check box for chords and fretboards in Edit Filter is unchecked. I have to manually do this every time I want to start writing. I have been having this issue with Finale for more than fifteen years even though I have used, probably, five different computers. Any idea why my computer can't remember my settings? I am using Windows 10, but this problem appeared back when I was using Windows 95.

Thanks for any insight into this small, but frustrating, issue is appreciated.

Set up the Edit Filter as you like, click OK. Then, go to the File Menu and "Save Preferences". Does this work? This seems to save the settings to the preferences for me, but I haven't checked this thoroughly.

Hi, I started a thread with a similar complaint a while back. It eventually boiled down to "sometimes you can, sometimes not":

EDIT: now the link should be correct, Sorry.
