Hi;

Accents that I properly place move away upon hitting 'enter'. Any tips as to what may be causing this?

Take a look at the accent articulation’s settings (in the Articulation Designer).

My first guess would be that the pop up menu Positioning is set to {Auto Note/Stem Side}.

The menu item {Auto Note/Stem Side} is fine for places where there are notes in both Layer 1 and Layer 2.

However, {Auto Note/Stem Side} does not work well in cross staff notes.
Instead, consider making a duplicate copy of the accent articulation (for use in cross staff notes), and edit the duplicate.

You might prefer two duplicates, with the settings {Above Note} and {Below Note} respectively.

Thank-you, Peter. The setting, in mine, has been "Manually", with the "default vertical position" as 0.08333 (please see attached image). I would think that manual adjustment would be the most flexible - no? That makes me wonder whether it's the default vertical position, of only 0.08333, that may be the culprit.

Your thoughts?

(A little later) Strangely, I found a different setting when clicking on the accent over a different note in the same piece (but, I believe there's only one accent articulation symbol in my library), and that one was not "manually". After I changed that one's position to "manually", the problem seemed to stop -- the accents now maintain the positions in which I place them. . .

I'll have to see if this behaviour continues!

Thanks, Peter!
