I am in the middle of an piece and have inserted a repaet barline. But i have selected to place the normal barlines only on the line and not through the lines. How dcan I make the repeat barline to go through lines?

I assume you have some kind of Group established, since you mention you have selected 'Draw Barlines Only On Staves'.

You need to change that choice to 'Draw Barlines Through Staves'. Then select Staff Tool and select the second staff from the top of the Group. Select Staff Menu > Edit Staff Attributes, check 'Break Barlines Between Staves' > OK. Repeat this for the next staff down, and so on for all the remaining staves in the Group. That should give you the result you seek.

The UI here is admittedly very confusing, since you have the Group Attributes giving one instruction and the Staff Attributes a directly contrary instruction, and no way to know which takes precedence except trial and error.

Yes that works very well. But now I have the following problem: the left repeatbar is perfect. But the right is "out of shape": the parts on the barlines ar thicker than the part between the lines. How can I fix this?

Using the Measure Tool, change the right Barline to 'Invisible' in each of the measures containing the right repeat bar.
